Dance Artist & Arts Producer
WHO AM I
I'm a dance and movement practitioner whose practise expands across performing, teaching, choreographing and producing. A passionate advocate of dance for all, I'm currently developing my career to include producing and festival management alongside practical work. I'm passionate about the arts as a catalyst of movement towards equality and wellbeing and this is what motivates me.
I'm a founding member of Glasgow based contemporary dance company Barrowland Ballet which has enabled me to perform and travel worldwide including to Chile, Japan, China, Egypt, Australia and throughout Europe. As a performer I've also worked with with Caroline Bowditch Company, Wee Stories, Stillmotion, David Hughes Dance, Freshmess Dance Company and Alan Greig Dance Theatre. As a dance and movement artist I've worked with Raw Material, Cora Bisset, Grid Iron Theatre Company, BBC Alba, Akram Khan Company, Edinburgh International Festival, Scottish Ballet, National Theatre of Scotland, Michael Clark Company, Scottish Dance Theatre, Vox Motus Theatre Company, East London Dance and Y-Dance.
In 2013 I received a career development mentorship through Dance UK (now One Dance UK) which inspired my transition into management and producing. The following year I initiated and organised a small Scottish tour and engagement programme for Epic Encounters Dance Company (Epic Arts, Cambodia). I then worked as assistant producer on Indepen-dance's International Festival of Inclusive Dance, Gathered Together in 2016.
In 2017 I undertook a Federation of Scottish Theatre producer placement with Tramway and The Work Room, working on Dance International Glasgow and led on the festival’s engagement and artist development programme.
Most recently, I have been working with Renfrewshire Council's events team as creative producer for Sma' Shot Day 2020.
I studied dance at Edinburgh's Telford College from 2002-2005, where I gained a BA (hons) in Dance and a HND in Professional Stage Dance. I was also selected for the European Festivals Association’s Festival Academy Atelier for Young Festival Managers in Merano, Italy in Autumn 2017.
