Hello
I'm jade and I’m a person who loves/needs to move. I’m based in the East End of Glasgow and am a dancer, choreographer, movement director, teacher, project manager and mum to a toddler. I've been a freelancer since graduating from Edinburgh's Telford College in 2005 with a BA Hons in Dance and this has enabled me to connect with people and communities across the world, as well as at home here in Scotland. See below for more info on that and click here to read about projects.

I'm also a person who loves to make things happen. I produce and manage creative events. Click here for info about festivals and events I have worked on.
My Story/Biog
I’m currently working as dancer in residence at Howford Primary School in Glasgow - developing my interactive performance workshop practice for young people with additional support needs. I also continue to work with Barrowland Ballet’s Wolfpack as co-facilitator, and with Paragon as dance support artist.
Other projects earlier in 2024 include; working as movement support artist on Dirliebane Theatre’s new production, Launch, project managing the Scottish presence at Tanzmesse nrw in Dusseldorf with The Work Room, and aerial dance facilitator on All or Nothing's Creatability project.

In 2023, I mostly took time off to become a mum. However I was involved in several smaller scale projects including research and development work with Libby Odai and Dirliebane Theatre. I was choreographer for a community group participating in the UCI Cycling Championships opening ceremony and continued some work with Barrowland Ballet’s Wolfpack and Paragon.

Projects in 2022 include: rehearsal director for Oona Doherty's Navy Blue on tour in Europe, choreographer for All or Nothing’s Flying Force community casts at Paisley Halloween Festival, movement director on Stamping Ground produced by Raw Material and Eden Court, associate movement director on National Theatre of Scotland's Orphans and performer on tour with Barrowland Ballet’s Tiger Trilogy.

Across 2021-22, I worked with All or Nothing as an aerial dance artist and facilitator on Creatability, which is an ongoing project with young people who are neurodivergent and/or have physical or learning disabilities.

In 2021 I was also an associate artist on Oona Doherty's Fly The Flag - a film project, produced by Fuel Theatre and commissioned by Sky Arts, where young people from across the UK explore freedom of expression and opinion.

I am half of the creative duo, We Are Witches, with my friend and collaborator Kim Moore. WAW started as a creative outlet between friends during the first lockdown of 2020 and developed from there to making music and short dance films with each other and with young people.

I'm a founding member of Glasgow based contemporary dance company Barrowland Ballet, which has enabled me to perform and travel worldwide over the years as well as lead on and develop participatory projects in local communities - most recent productions include the Tiger Trilogy, Poggle and Whiteout.

As a dance and movement artist, I've previously worked on projects with Raw Material, Cora Bisset, Grid Iron Theatre Company, BBC Alba, Akram Khan Company, Edinburgh International Festival, Scottish Ballet, National Theatre of Scotland, Michael Clark Company, Scottish Dance Theatre, Vox Motus Theatre Company, East London Dance and Y-Dance.

As a creative performer, I've worked with Caroline Bowditch Company, Stillmotion, David Hughes Dance, Freshmess Dance Company, Wee Stories and Alan Greig Dance Theatre.
